Please read the FAQs about fingerprints at this website regarding how long prints last, etc. Move the glove to a paper bag to and leave it alone. The prints may (or may not) still be recoverable years later. It is a matter of chance as to whether or not identifiable latent finger or palm prints were present when the glove was left behind. |

Also, a paper bag is better for preserving DNA. There is a high probability that the DNA of the person(s) who previously wore the glove may be recovered from inside of it. |

Yes, it is possible that prints can be developed on the inside, and outside (because they had to put them on and take them off), of the glove. Latex is not an ideal surface, but it is not a particular difficult surface. However, I would store them for later examination loosely in a paper bag, not a ziplock plastic bag. The sealed environment of a plastic bag will do more to destroy than protect latent residue. |

It is possible that identifiable fingerprints might remain on the glove. |

My house was broken into and after dusting everything finally found out they wore gloves. The next day I found a black latex glove which did not belong to anyone in my home in the recycling bin. I called the detective but they had 2 men in lockup for the crime and didn't send anyone out to get the glove. I immediatley put it in a zip lock bag. Is it possible for the fingerprints to remain on the glove (if any) incase the case falls through as they are still denying it. |
