B&E is a law enforcement acronym for breaking and entering.

Whether or not a police agency processes evidence from a crime for latent prints depends mainly on agency resources balanced with management's priorities. At our lab we do process prints from B&E cases, larceny...depends what you mean by 'serious', but a violent felony is not required.

what kind of crimes would constitute the use of fingerprinting? does it need to be a serious crime? or would a lesser crime even be examined?
