Update... as of 30 September 2001, "on-site" work at Pennsylvania and the Pentagon are basically complete. Recovery of remains at the World Trade Center is by all appearances not overwhelming for the FBI and NY teams on-site already. Everyone's spirit of teamwork is greatly appreciated.

Stephen Meagher of the FBI Laboratory is leading coordination for casualty identification efforts. As of 14 September 2001, he related that sufficient LP Examiners are on-site at the various locations. Mr. Meagher gave permission for me to post that although no additional LP Examiners are needed at this time (as of 14 SEP 01), he is keeping a list of names and WILL accept additional volunteers. Contact information for Stephen Meagher is in your IAI Roster, or call 202-FBI-3000 (202-324-3000) and ask to speak with Stephen Meagher in the FBI Laboratory. The FBI is extremely busy at this time and you may need to leave a short message regarding your volunteer information. Volunteering normally means that you already have your agency's permission to travel and that your agency agrees to sponsor you by funding all expenses related to your travel and volunteer services. |
