I met Brian while attending a class in advanced IED electronics he was teaching. (after his injury) I had 29 years EOD experience at the time. Brian's attitude toward life, his brother EOD techs and his great love of country brought me to tears then, and now when I think of him. He is more man that I could ever hope to be. I have never met a more positive, upbeat and optomistic man in my life. He is a role model for any one of our sons, I am am humbled to call him friend. | ||

Brian and Family, I recently learned of the situation. My thoughts and prayers got out to you. I just spent a year in Iraq with 1st Cav in the wonderful city of Sadir. I knew Brian shortly, but, his brother Sean is a fraternity brother of mine from NGC and someone who I looked up too as a young cadet. May Brian's injuries heal soon and the scars go away. I saw Brian's picture in the paper today while he was at a Memorial Day tribute. He so moved me that I had to search the internet to find out more about this brave soldier and who he was. I just want to thank you Brian for your service to our country. I am so proud of you. The nation is proud of you. I am also very sorry to hear that you lost your friend that day. Bill, I am so sorry to hear about your son Brian. I am praying for him and your family. I think it is a noble cause that our troops have taken up in Iraq, even though much of the world doesn't agree. Bill Doyne is a US Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory (USACIL) Latent Print Examiner who has two sons serving in the US Army in Iraq. SGT Brian Doyne, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician, was seriously injured by an explosion Thursday morning (24 Feb 05). The explosion was the result of a secondary device targeting EOD personnel and it killed Brian's partner. SGT Brian Doyne is being medevac'd to Bethesda Naval Hospital this weekend. Bill's other son is CPT Sean Doyne, stationed with the 503d MP Bn in Iraq. Bill Doyne was deployed to Iraq for several months last year on a mission involving latent print examination. Bill is a retired Infantry Colonel and one of USACIL's finest professionals. Please join the Army Crime Lab and other Latent Print Examiners in remembering Brian Doyne and his family in your prayers. |
