I have never heard of a real problem involving fingerprinting children... other than unfounded fears of parents that somehow their little Johnny or little Debbie's prints are going into a giant computer file to track them forever. Normally there is no fingerprint repository for children... and fingerprint files seem to be what most folks fear. When a child is fingerprinted, the record print(s) are normally given to the parents to keep just in case the child should ever become lost or otherwise disappear. It is a public service to the parents. You might want to argue for banning child fingerprinting because of the thousands of dollars wasted through ruined clothes when children with ink on their hands touch other children or teachers :-). It could also be a boost for inkless chemical fingerprinting kit sales. --Ed German |

Hey~ I was just wondering if a problem with fingerprinting ever occurs. I am doing an argumentation topic about it. I am supposed to be arguing the fact that we should ban child fingerprinting. I was just wondering if you have any information on problems that have occured during a fingerprinting of a child. Thank you for your time. |
