Click here to see a page with a listing of just some of the colleges and universities offering forensic science training... including some specific courses on latent prints/fingerprints. Also, here you can read about West Virginia University's new Forensic Identification degree program (which includes fingerprint and latent print courses). |

Eddie, As far as I know, there are no fingerprint identification courses being offered at any State or UC college. I myself graduated from Sac State with a BS in Forensics, and at that time there were no classes specifically devoted to latent prints there. I do know of some courses being offered by the California Criminalistics Institute regarding fingerprints. However, I think they are exclusive to those persons currently in law enforcement or a crime lab. You might want to check out Cal State LA for classes just to be sure (it's been a few years since I've been in touch with them). I think their emphasis is forensic chemistry. I am very interested in becoming a latent print analyst. From what i have been told you only need complete a finger print identification course accredited by the state of California. Would you know of any colleges or other facilty that might offer that course? I am in Southern California. I appreciate any advice or info you can give me. Thank you Eddie <4forensics@angelfire.com> |
