I have to say that I am not convinced of the merits that the non-numeric system of fingerprint identificaion has compared to the numeric system i.e. 16 points in sequence and agreemment with no unexplained differences. It seems to me, as a layman in these matters, that as I understand it, by using the non-numeric system, identificastion of a fingerprint can be made on as few as 2,3,4 or 5 points in agreement. Surely that is an unsafe manner of gaining an identification when even unnder the numeric system there was the possibility of mis-identification? I would welcome comments. |
