The US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) processes fingerprints through multiple US Government databases, thus the cost and expense is more than the $18 charged by the FBI for an identification record request. Please visit the USCIS Website at www.uscis.gov At that website, click on Immigration Forms and you will see that in addition to base filing fee costs, you may be required to pay an $80 biometric fee (livescan fingerprint fee). At the page egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC you can click on the map at the bottom of the page to locate the nearest US Citizenship and Immigration Service Application Support Center. You may also try calling 1 (800) 375-5283 to get assistance in locating an Application Support Center. | ||

I have to have my husband fingerprinted for immigration purposes but my lawyer is charging me $218. I did some investigating of my own and see that FBI fingerprints cost $18. Are the immigration fingerprints the same as FBI fingerprints? I don't want to get ripped off. Can someone clarify this for me? |
