From "Quantitive-Qualitative Friction Ridge Analysis", D. Ashbaugh, CRC
Press, 1999, Page 64:

Average distance between ridge peaks is "0.48mm in young male adults"...
"Young adult males have an average or approximately 20.7 per cm and females
approximately 23.4 ridges per cm. Differentiating between male and female
friction ridges is not practical as some people are simply bigger than
others."

Good luck,

Greetings

I was wondering if anyone knew if there exists an average median distance between ridges or valleys of a fingerprint in a normal adult and if so, what the distance would be?

Thank you
