I'd like to ask about the chemical of cyanoacrylate esters. I've read that CA vapors interacts well with the sebaceous components of the fingerprint residue, and also moist (water?).

Does that mean that it reacts well with both WSD and NWSD components? And just by looking at the chemical structure of the CA molecules, I don't know if it's a strong polar compound or not. If it is polar, it shouln't react with the oily part of the fingerprint residue right?

I fumed an engine oil-contaminated fingerprint for no more than 10 min and it turned out that it could be dusted and lifted. The ridge details were incredibly sharp.

I just want to know which part of the CA molecules that reacts with the fingerprint residue or the oil (engine oil) residue. Is it the side chain?
