Please read the FAQs here concerning what surfaces may be processed for latent fingerprints. It is impossible to predict the chances of recovering identifiable latent prints for any specific situation because there are too many variables involved.

Recently, my truck was stolen and the theives left some marijuana in the truck. The police believe for some reason that the drugs are mine and that I was driving. This is what I believe because my truck is being held for evidence. The police said they would fingerprint the bags or whatever was left to track the criminals. Do you believe that they will be able to do so? What are the chances of them obtaining verifiable fingerprints on bags, glass, or metal?
