If you google indanedione you'll get alot of journal articles on fingerprint developement.
As far as i know the mechanism of how indanedione developes the prints has not been discovered. However, there is strong evidence to show that it is reacting with the amino acids present in the latent deposit.

Hi, does anyone know exactly how and why 1,2 indanedione works to develop/enhance latent fingerprints or where i may be able to get some information?
