Greetings: (A repeat message as my first one was apparently rejected)

I am currently involved in a project and looking for research, successes and heads up with regards to separating the lifter adhesive from the latent fingerprint captured on old case lifters. We are ultimately looking for DNA extraction from old case lifters.

If anyone can assist, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

One Canadian source for how to extract DNA from latent prints is the Ottawa Heart Institute.

Publicity about Maria Viaznikova's 2003 research indicated the technology was being shared with the RCMP.

Maria Viaznikova is still listed among the research clinical scientists/post doctoral fellows on the Division of Cardiovascular Devices Staff page. The phone number is (613) 761-4545 (Cardiovascular Devices office) or (613) 761-5000 (Heart Institute main number).

Has anyone any knowledge, or has anyone experimented from DNA extraction from old case lifters?

Any methods out there for separating DNA from the lifter glue / adhesive?

Thank you.
