Lifting fingerprints from rock

One in 1982 (Fingerprint Whorld) cites powder development and one in 1996 (Journal of Forensic Identification) cites cyanoacrylate fuming success after one week. I would certainly collect and process a smooth river rock for latent prints, especially if collected and processed close to the time of the event (within a few days).   Samuel Remik Posted on Monday, March 07, 2005 - 04:06 pm:        I've seen a lot of posts about what surfaces prints can be lifted off of, but none about rock. My store was recently robbed when someone smashed the window in with a large, smooth, dry river rock. The police said you can't get prints off a rock. Is this true?
