The spelling for the area in question indicated within your parenthesis is "thenar". The witness was probably naming areas of the palm, not flex creases. The creases that aid in defining the areas are the 'proximal transverse crease', the 'distal transverse crease' and the 'radial longitudinal crease', but it doesn't sound as if the witness used those terms. | ||

I am a court reporter working on a transcript. I had an expert witness on the stand testifying about a palm print on a knife. I would appreciate help with the names of the flex creases. This is the testimony I have with the word I have researched and been unable to find a proper spelling for in parenthesis: "With those three sections -- they're referred to as the top one is interdigital, the one on the outside of the palm edge is a hypothenar, and the one by the thumb is an (achethenar). They all have consistent patterns or certain flows to them. |
