is it elegal to finger print your employees or ask them for finger prints

I would also add that they should be authorised to do so by their Chief Police Officer.

I would say that anyone with recognised training in location and recovery of latent print evidence can lift latents and submit them for examination.

I know there are written certification rules, policies, procedures and guidelines for the latent print examiner to follow. Are there equally stringent rules for the person who dusted and rolled the prints? What if the person who lifted the print is not a certified latent print examiner? Is it permissible for a "Community Service Operator" (not a police officer) to do the lift?
