Hi I am working on research dealing with fingerprint recovery from arson scenes...is anyone aware of any more recent publications with regards to this subject? |

I am a student at the Institute of Scientifique Police at the University of Lausanne. I am currently performing a research project about incendiary bottles and Molotov cocktails and need the articles of Vernon D. McCloud and John E. Thornton listed below. We don't have the IAI CD with these articles at the Institute. Would anyone be kind enough to send me these articles or tell me where to find them I would be very grateful! |

Sometimes running water can wash off the soot and leave beautiful latent prints. Some folks have used feather brushes with good success. Multiple, successive adhesive tape lifts have been used to lift off the soot and recover underlying impressions. An ultra-sonice cleaning bath has been used with good success. What methods can be used to obtain latent fingerprints from items (smooth, non-porous) covered in smoke? |
