EGA is the abbreviation for Estimated Gestational Age. This is roughly the age of the fetus since conception, although obviously an exact day of conception is generally not known by researchers. So the phrase "16 weeks EGA" simply means when the fetus is approximately 16 weeks old. I hope this helps.

I read this EGA in the article that pertains to friction ridge growth. What it is all about? When it will start in the life of the fetus? How about the time of the conception in the womb? I do not understand these words.

Could somebody expound it for me?
