Although extremely high temperature can cause problems, low temperature and high humidity is more problematic due to the likelihood of condensation. Natural fingerprint residue (from the eccrine glands on friction ridge skin) is water soluble, and can be destroyed by water condensing on a cold surface in the presence of high humidity.

Not all fingerprints are destroyed by condensation, e.g., latent prints deposited in an oily contaminant can often survive dew (condensation), rain and/or immersion in water.

If you have a high temperature and low humidity area vs a low temp with high humidity area which would be harder to get fingerprints from
