As stated in the 20 February 2001 posting, determining personality type from friction ridge patterns is nonsense. Determining personality from friction ridge patterns lacks scientific basis, especially repeatability in similar controlled experiments by independent researchers. Like phrenology, physiognomy, pathognomy, characterology, personology, psychognomy and other "...ologies" which claim extensive research, divining a person's personality from finger or palm prints has been discredited as baseless. If, however, you are a believer that any research claiming to be extensive must be reliable, then be sure to protect your beliefs from corruption by wearing an AFDB. Please be assured that the AFDB has had extensive research by experts, including those at MIT who encourage even further research and development of that important technology. |

There has been extensive research between fingerprint types and personality type. This type of study is called dermatoglyphics. It is the study of the ridges on hands and feet. (Message edited by admin on October 13, 2006) |

No... it's nonsense: WHORLS : A person whose fingerprints are mainly whorls will be an individualistic, not just one of the crowd. These people are often very talented and are good at keeping secrets. ARCH : A person with mostly arch fingerprints will be the suspicious type, never believing anything until it is proven. These people go well in trade work and are good, hard workers. LOOPS : Everyone gets on well with a person whose fingerprints are mainly loops. They have good communication skills and all round capability. TENTED ARCH : These people become deeply involved in everything that they do. COMPOSITE PRINT : This is a rare print. People with this have trouble making up their mind and are difficult to deal with.
It's entertaining, but still nonsense. Because about 95% of all fingerprint patterns are loops or whorls, you can see that most people can identify pleasantly with what is projected from the above categories. You could substitute eye color categories as follows:BLUE EYES: A person whose eyes are blue will be an individualistic, not just one of the crowd. These people are often very talented and are good at keeping secrets. HAZEL EYES: A person with hazel eyes will be the suspicious type, never believing anything until it is proven. These people go well in trade work and are good, hard workers. BROWN EYES: Everyone gets on well with a person whose eyes are brown. They have good communication skills and all around capability. GREEN EYES: These people become deeply involved in everything that they do. TWO DIFFERENT COLORED EYES: This is a rare eye type. People with this have trouble making up their mind and are difficult to deal with.
...and it would still be just meaningless entertainment. --Ed German |

I've come across some personality traits for finger prints on the internet. I'm wondering if they are true. Are they? If you want to see, go to: http://www.paralumun.com/palmprints.htm thanks, katie |
