Hello all!

I was hoping to reach out to see if anyone had any experiencing processing items that have been buried for extended periods of time.

The concern with these items in possibly developing any latent prints that I have not experienced yet is: 1. The items are coated in a thick layer of (wet) dirt. The dirt has since dried and I could potentially use a fingerprint brush to gently remove the remaining dirt and process subsequently via cyanoacrylate fuming; 2. The conditions the items were recovered had them exposed to dirt and moisture for an extended period of time. There didn't seem to be any protection from the elements in the positioning of the items in the ground.

I am interested to see if anyone has had any experience with these conditions and if you had any positive results. I am aware the conditions the items were in most likely rendered any possible latent prints that were present prior to being buried to be unviable - but yet, I would still like to make an attempt. So I thank you in advance for any suggestion you may have.
