I recently read an article in Fingerprint Whorld (Vol 40 No 153) where a wet powdering method was used to identify who was responsible for sinking the Greenpeace vessel 'Rainbow Warrior' in 1985 in New Zealand. Does anyone know the details of this case from a fingerprint perspective? Was SPR used and on what? Apparently the suspects prints were developed on documents found on board a French ship alleged to have carried the explosives in the bombing but apart from this, I cannot find any reference to any other fingerprint techniques used or identifications. No mention of this during my training years either. Does anybody know about this?
