Since the process results from a chemical reaction, 24hr minimum is best practices to allow reaction prior to any thermal treatment.

One case of review from a Fed lab that processed with Nin and immediately hit with steam iron sent out no result report. Subsequent review of the evidence showed fully developed latents on major drug case including mules and major suspect

Good morning, wondering if any of you fingerprint developers use the 24 hour rule for Ninhydrin development, keep overnight as opposed to development and completing the case same day. Any known cases of later development of Ninhydrin when case was already returned? Thanks!
