I am trying the DFO / Ninhydrin / Zinc Chloride process. I was wondering how many people may have observed it. It has been said that Physical Developer will take much longer to process latent prints on paper, if that paper has been treated with Ninhydrin in HFE-7100, longer than if treated with Ninhydrin in other solvents. There seems to be no lack of latent prints being developed, rather it just takes considerably longer. If this is a common phenomenon, the word should be spread to everyone using Ninhydrin in HFE-7100 and, then, Physical Developer. Otherwise, the latent print examiner may stop the Physical Developer process before all of the latent prints develop. I know that HFE-7100 solvent has not been around for too long and I wondered if anyone noticed any difference in the reaction time of Physical Developer.
