From the full hand, you can get the full ridge detail covering the hand... enabling identification of impressions made from those areas of the hand when no identifiable fingerprints are recovered/available.
For the purpose of verifying the identity of a person, even just part of one fingerprint may suffice provided the impression is of sufficient quality (clarity) and provided you have the corresponding area of the finger in a known impression which is also legible.

My question is why would you nedd a print of your full hand. What can you get from your hand that you could not get from normal finger prints.
