We have a chamber from Sirchie that works well. However in most cases we use an iron. We place a towel down on a flat surface, place the item on top of the first towel, then place a second towel on top of the item of evidence. Then, we take an iron over the top of the second towel (as if you were ironing an item of clothing) for around 5 minutes. This is a quicker way to add the heat and humidity needed without having to use a chamber at all.

Does anyone know of a reliable humidity chamber for the development of ninhydrin prints? We recently had an electrical problem, and have one chamber in use right now from Misonix, however, our staff agrees that the results from that chamber are not developing as well as the Hotpack chamber. I would appreciate any feedback about chambers that are in use in other laboratories and the results that are being obtained. Thanks for your help.
