The professional units aren't any better than something you can put together yourself. Is the counter stationary or is it removable (so you could put it in a portable unit)? For small movable objects, the best thing to use is a fish tank. The clear sides make it so you can insure the evidence isn't being overfumed. For items that can't be move, like a counter, you can open up a plastic garbage bag and tape it around the area you want fumed. This works well but it's usually hard to know if the area is being overfumed. Once you've done it a lot then you know how much glue to use and how long to leave it fuming. Good Luck, Michele |

I am looking for a portable fuming tent that would be large enough to fume a counter approximately 3' x 3' (something a bad guy has jumped over??) and also be capaple of fuming evidence such as cash drawers, drink glases, guns etc. The portable tents I've seen from Sirchie and others are pretty small. I would also be interested in do-it-yourself plans if any exist, but would rather have something more professional and sturdy. (Something that would assemble and disassemble (into a small package) quickly is desirable. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Acroreef |
