Hello, After reading your post, I was curious as I had never heard of this method. I have tried to make a mixture of crystalized R6G and CA, which yielded no fluorescent properties, I also attempted to mix a pre-mixed R6G with CA and again no results. Our labonly uses a liquid dye stain following CA fuming as of now. Good luck with your thesis. | ||

Hello! I´m a swedish student writing my thesis at the Laboratory of Forensic science in Sweden. I´ve been reading publications about different dyes that have been mixed with cyanoacrylate or fumed on the latent fingerprint concurrently with cyanoacrylate to enhance the visualization of latent fingerprints. I wonder if there are any forensic laboratories who use these one-step-methods instead of using solutions of dyes like basic yellow after fuming with cyanoacrylate? And if there are not, I wonder why not? I´d be very glad if someone could help me with these questions or maybe give me a contact to some one who can.. Kind regards! |
