Interesting question-I've never had a problem with not using up superglue packets or bottles in a timely manner. What size containers are you buying? Maybe look into buying single packets or 1 ounce bottles if you don't do alot of evidence processing. Superglue should always be kept out of direct sunlight as it will greatly shorten its shelf life... |

Another tip regarding cyanoacrylate purchase and storage is to buy one ounce bottles whenever possible. Larger bottles can cause problems with glued-on lids (and smoking shirts) as detailed here. |

I believe I may have answered my own question. By doing some research on the internet, it appears that if the container is unopened, it may be kept in the refrigerator or freezer indefinately. Once opened, it becomes a bit dicier. (anywhere from 30 days to 1 year). I found some good info on the Palm Labs web site. Any other feedback would certainly be appreciated. |

With cyanoacrylate processing being the workhorse that it is in most LP sections, I am curious to know if anyone has ever established a shelf-life for super-glue. Can it lose it's effectiveness as far as polymerization goes? Especially as it pertains to subsequent dye stain processing? Thanks!! |
