Sarah,

Are you are interested in obtaining latent prints deposited on bodies (re: post by Glen Spencer) or are you interested in techniques for recording/recovering the fingerprints of deceased persons in varying stages of post-mortem conditions? There are several sources of information regarding the former and many more regarding the latter in professional journals.

You can contact me for specific information on articles relating to these areas as they are too numerous to list.

A good source for this information is Bob Moran at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. I do not have his contact information, but I'm sure if you contact the Academy you should be able to get ahold of him.

There is also a tutorial text by William C. Sampson, Karen L. Sampson, and M. Frank Shonberger titled "Recovery of Latent Fingerprint Evidence from Human Skin: Causation, Isolation and Processing Techniques." They work for a company called KLS Forensics, Inc. and might be on-line.

I'm looking for information on using fingerprints for post mortem identification of bodies? Anyone out there know where to find any good info?
