I have recently begun working in a fingerprint development lab in the UK and was wondering whether anyone could help me with a few problems we are experiencing:

1) Development of latent prints on metal substrates - we currently use CNA but are having limited sucess rates. Is this due to metal type and/or surface roughness/coating issues?

2) Fingerprint development on firearms - the issues are similar to those outlined above. I have read the previous forum on firearms and am intrigued by the sucess rates that have been achieved.

3) Methods for developing/enhancing prints left in light oil/grease i.e. food fats and petroleum based oils.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
