There have been previous reported cases of false idents with false verifications. Ian McKie will tell you that. The answer in court remains, the error rate of the "correctly followed" methodology is zero - practitioner error rate is obviously marginally higher as some unfortunate cases have illustrated. That is a good thought. However, since there have been so many newspaper articles about it and on one web site there was an article about someone in Ireland who was asked in court about the mistakes in the United States and the UK, I thought perhaps it would help us if it came up in testimony here. If there was no verification, the simple answer would be that protocol was not followed. |

Because there is a homicide case in trial and because Scott's death is still under investigation, perhaps we shouldn't discuss this on a public forum right now. Just a thought. |

I would like to know if there was a verification in the Utah bum ident. This information would be helpful if we are asked about it in court. |
