My dad was handwritting "expert" for the DC police dept. He once gave a test for form blindness consisting of the word "york" written twice by 50 different people. Your job was to match them up. My brother and I failed, my sister had no problem with it.

I am looking for the fingerprinting exercises used in Byrd's study. If anyone knows where I could find them, that would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for form blindness exercises. Does anyone know where I can find them. I am specifically referring to latent fingerprint examinations. Physical Comparison Aptitude Tests are used to test for form blindness.

If there are any specific questions regarding form blindness I will be glad to answer them. However, I check my e-mail account much more frequently at JonByrd@mcl.state.ms.us

The article on form blindness will be published in the May/June issue of the JFI.

Thanks,

Here is the intro to Jon Byrd's lecture. Form blindness is a combined physical and mental fault, an imperfection in the brain that causes the inability to interpret and correctly store what is actually focused on the human retina. Problems in comparison training, due not only to the failure to see the outside of things but to the failure to recognize the real differences and the fundamental similarites and to understand them and interpret them when they are seen.. Hope this helped

I was at the conference but missed the lecture. Have there been any papers published on the subject?
