Does anyone have any references on incipient ridges?
So far I have Okajima's 'Dermal and Epidermal Structures of the Volar Skin' and Ashbaugh's 'Incipient Ridges and the Clarity Spectrum'.
I'm especially looking for articles about the appearance/absence of incipients in latent and inked impressions.

Can anyone say with authority that they have ever seen incipient ridges on the palm or phalanges? Do they only appear on the finger-tips? If so, why?
