No. It would not be possible to identify someone based on the prints from their opposite hand.
It would be very unusual for the police to have on file the prints of one hand and not the other hand. That unusual situation could exist if, for example, the fingers of one hand were unable to be printed due to bandages when the person was printed by police during an earlier encounter.

If police had prints on file of one's right hand and prints of the same individual's left hand were found, would they match?
