I have arches on both index fingers, and loops on every other finger looping towards each thumb respectively. Left hand loops swirling to the left, and right hand loops swirling to the right.

My right thumb has a whorl pattern. The only finger which has it. All the rest of my fingers have loop patterns. Is that weird?

Short answers: no, and sometimes

The patterns on your left and right pinkies can be mirror images of each other, but often are not. The minutiae on your fingers (points where the ridges end or split) are completely unique and are not mirror images of each other.

If you find a print that has a loop pattern, you may be able to tell which hand it came from. Most of the time the loop points towards the outside (pinky side) of the hand. However, this is not always the case on all people, and index fingers point the opposite way about half the time.

There are other more subtle clues that can suggest which hand a finger came from, but not with 100% certainty.

Are the prints on my left pinkie and right pinkie, for example, mirror images of one another? Do prints have an orientation, meaning, can an expert identify what hand a print came from (sort of like looking at the head of a golf club tells you the golfers handedness)?
