Is it possible to take a new born baby's footprint and a footprint taken 25 years later and determine that it is the same person? And if so, where would You find someone to do that examination?

The ninhydrin reaction is derived from early studies into amino acids and the 'purple' color is termed "Ruhemann Purple". 'Equations' associated with the chemical process can be viewed at www.aminosys.de/dokument/build_frames_e.htm. A search for "Ruhemann Purple" can perhaps direct you to other sites as well.
