You can look at state and local. Some state have a lab attached to the state patrol and some are state police. The IAI is a good source. The best thing you can do is look at the web for the state you want to work in and look at their website. That is usually where you'll find postings.

I have my M.S. from the University of New Haven in Forensic Science, with a major in Advanced Investigation and a professional certificate in National Security. I have been mentored under a retired FBI latent print examiner, and I know that's what I want to go into. I have received a certificate in Basic and Advanced Fingerprint Classification and Comparison, as well as "Dust 'N Bust", which was a class outlining on-the-scene ways to collect fingerprints and shoeprints. I am also a member of the IAI. I am looking for a job in the field of fingerprinting, whether in the lab or out at the scene collecting.
