I must say, your chances are probably pretty darn slim, but then again latent prints have been developed under stranger circumstances. The best policy for any law enforcement agency to operate under is give it a shot. The worst thing that could happen is developing nothing, and even that doesn't hurt anything. Latent prints have been recovered from items submerged in water. I'm not sure about leather, but nobody will know unless they try!

WE FOUND A WALLET IN A TOILET AND WANT TO KNOW IF IT COULD STILL HAVE FINGERPRINTS ON IT, AND CAN THEY BE LIFTED?
