Bottom Line: If someone has been fingerprinted in the past and their prints are in an AFIS, they will very likely get matched. This depends on the quality of the record prints and the latent(s) against the accuracy of the systems algorithym. Clear prints in the database along with a good latent will almost guarantee a match... The key is having good quality prints on file. |

If prints are found in a crime scene, do they have to have a suspect to match the prints or can they match them with no suspect? |
