Our QA manager gave us test latents obtained from subjects known to be in the database and had each latent print examiner run the test latents through AFIS just like a normal latent case. When the latent test print hit in the verification queue, the print was identified and all coresponding AFIS match printouts, charts and fingerprint cards were submitted to the validation file.

Has anyone tried to validate an AFIS system as part of an accreditation (ISO 17025 for example)? Or have any of the suppliers helped anyone to validate their system or provide a validation plan?
