Birth - That is also when the footprint is usually recorded in the delivery room.
The ridge detail on the fingers are naturally very small at birth and difficult to record in the traditional manner, but with care it can be done.

I understand that fingerprints start forming during the first 3-4 months of pregancy.
At what age would the ridge detail be clearly defined for rolling and comparision .
