Examines fingerprint evidence related to criminal investigations. Uses ACE-V methodology to determine suitability for comparison; uses the Biometric Identification System (BIS – formerly AFIS) and Next Generation Identification system (NGI – formerly IAFIS) to develop potential subjects for further comparison; and compares suitable latent prints to known finger/palm records. In some cases, may be required to use the Henry Classification System to locate old fingerprint records. Courtroom testimony may be required to support work performed. |
